We have a Nikon Coolpix 8400 digital camera. This camera is noteworthy because its standard lens zooms out to the equivalent of a 24mm wide angle lens in standard 35mm film photography. In addition, we have purchased a special wide angle adapter that extends this scene to that seen by an 17mm wide angle lens (35mm film equivalent). We have recently added a Nikon D200 digital SLR camera with a 12-24mm wide angle zoom, again equivalent to an 18-36mm 35mm film lens. By comparison, most point-and-shoot digital cameras, while very convenient, have a wide angle coverage equivalent to a 35mm lens in standard 35mm photography, actually not very wide angle at all, especially indoors.
This super wide angle of view is especially useful for real estate, advertising and industrial photography.
We also have a fisheye attachment for the Coolpix 8400.
